Hyde Park and BB Burgers

Another day with the sunshine streaming through the windows meant a wander to Hyde Park. I took my book (12 Years a Slave, in case you were wondering), cosied up in a jumper and scarf and spent the morning in the winter sun overlooking the double pond.

Once my tummy started to rumble, I went in search of food on Beaufort Street. I was all ready to go to Veggie Mama’s when I spotted BB, A Pop Up – a kitsch and quirky pop up restaurant. So instead of a nice, healthy vegan lunch I plumped for the juiciest hunk of meat I could find.

That came in the form of The Boss, fries and a corona of course.

Beef, bacon, cheese, BB's smoky mayo, smoky BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion all encased in a soft brioche bun.

Although I asked for the burger medium rare, it was more like well done but still delicious, and despite the abundance of juices, the soft brioche bun held its shape pretty well.

Just be warned, BBQ sauce leaks out at every opportunity so you’ll need multiple napkins to clear up the mess your hands will become.
