Cottesloe Beach

On several recommendations, Natalie and I decided to brave the winter winds and head down to Cottesloe Beach for our fix of salty hair, sandy feet and fish and chips.

Despite the nip in the air and the decidedly icy water the beach was chockablock with surfers.

We sat and watched in awe as they rode the waves as if they'd been born surfing.

We chatted and giggled and ogled the muscly men running down to the ocean before taking a wander along the beach.

As the clouds loomed above we dipped into the general store for a slice of cake and a coffee and when we came back out the sky was electric.

We walked back along the shore and relaxed on the beach in the afternoon sun before picking out the best spot to watch the sunset.

Although the clouds rather spoilt the sunset, the last of the sun bathed the last of the surfers beautifully.

Pick a sunny day and go and relax at this gorgeous little spot.
