UPDATE

The start of term only signals one thing: Studying. Unfortunately all my big adventures have been replaced with $135 books and late nights in the library. But oh no, I won't let a bit of work spoil all my fun; instead I've taken to enjoying the smaller pleasures in life. Here's a little taster of what I've been getting up to in my in between times.

For us stereotypical British students, O2 week didn't quite live up to our 'Freshers' ideals but we grabbed our goon (2-4 litre bags of wine for $10) and made the most of it.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of the stunning views of the ocean lapping at the banks of the city from every point on campus. Sunsets up here on our little hill  steep mountain are consistently beautiful.

If I have to be in the library at least I can watch the sun setting over the sea

If you follow me on twitter you'll already know that I tried kangaroo for the first time ever. It's definitely up there in my top 5 favourite meats. I'm a burger connoisseur through and through but I would choose a kangaroo burger over a beef patty any day of the week. And with less that 2% fat it's super healthy too! WIN WIN.

Whilst I'm on the subject of food, I've been trying a bit of everything. From Mexican to Chinese, waffles

Banana, honeycomb and Nutella waffle - deeeelish!

to campus wholefoods, I've loved it all.

The Usual - Pumpkin and Feta Triangle and a Cinnamon Chai Latte.
Tastes like Christmas which is allowed because it's winter here...right?

Despite still managing to have a whale of a time between my readings, I've got one problem. I've started to miss all my friends and family back home. I know I have Facebook, Skype and twitter but with the current GMT 8.30+ time difference, I can't just pick up the phone whenever I feel like it. I'm fine and I will be fine but sometimes I just need to see a face like this to remind me why I left the UK.
